The Elder Scrolls: Arena[]
The Elder Scrolls: Arena was a first person RPG game set in the continent of Tamriel, like all of its sequels, and that was released on the MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System) in 1994. It was immensly popular and lead to selling more than 3000 units. It starts off with the usurpation of the Emperor of Tamriel. The apprentice of the emperor is murdered by the new emperor and she guides that playerr's character out of the dungeons and guides them throughout their journey.
The game is played in a first person perspective and in the game you can communicate with the NPC's (Non-Player Characters). The game has a terrain which is randomly generated making it impossible to travel from city to city without using fast travel. The game has a tendency to be unforgiving towards new-comers and the best example of this is the first quest when you are trying to escape the dungeon because if you linger too long really powerful enemies will appear and kill you. Ken Rolston, the lead designer on The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, said that the started the game 20 times and only once has he gotten out of the starting dungeon.
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall[]
The sequel to the first Elder Scrolls game anbd the 21st game to be devloped by Bethesda Softworks that was released 2 years after the orginal release of TES: Arena in North America and the European Union. It still runs on the MS-DOS and retains the fantasy RPG action element of the original Elder Scrolls game but now comes with different endings depending on what the player does during the duration of the game.
The game starts off in the hoem city of the Bretons called Daggerfall (hence the title). The player has been sent here at the emperors request so that they can complete 2 things, freeing the soul of the late king Lysandus from the shackles of the Earth and second they must discover what happened to a letter from the emperor
